How to identify
The male birds are easily identified by their rich glossy plumage
and orange beaks. Female blackbirds have a much more duller plumage
of brown with a mottled colour breast.
Where they can be seen
Any where in the garden from nesting garden hedges to foraging
on the garden lawn. Additionally it can be found throughout British woodlands and countryside
Feeding Habits
Blackbirds naturally feed on a range of items. These include earthworms, insects, snails and slugs. Also they will feed on berries and fallen fruit.
Blackbirds are quite hapy to feed off open birdtables and will
take kitchen scraps as well as apples and other fruit.
